Food Glorious Food – Wonder of the Seas

Wonder of the Seas is Royal Caribbean’s latest edition to her fleet. She is the largest cruise ship in the world and with every bell and whistle imaginable. Can you expect the 5-star treatment on such an immense ship?

The Answer is Absolutely

Boarding this beautiful beast, the first port of call was Wind Jammer, the main buffet restaurant onboard. This is not your ordinary buffet, the extensive choice caters for every taste but what stands out is the offering, with the seafood section even offering lobster! The aroma of the Indian counter stopped me in my tracks and the Tikka Masala did not disappoint.

This restaurant also has a Kid Jammer station for little ones – ideally set at their level – making holidays with kids that little bit easier to navigate.

Wonder’s Main Dining Room

Dinner in the Main Dining Room was phenomenal with beef carpaccio to start and duck a l’orange for mains, the photos don’t do the flavours justice. As you would expect from a 5-star ship of this standard, service is second to none and every member of staff is friendly, attentive and on hand to help. The only question is whether there is any need to eat anywhere else. However, with a table in one of the speciality restaurants, the Mason Jar, for later this evening, I will let you know tomorrow.

Jennifer Callister Recommendation

Lunch on board based on Jennifer Callister’s excellent recommendation was tasty nachos with vibrant flavours matched by colourful decor in the Mexican eatery, El Loco Fresh. This is ideal for a light bite matched with a beer or margarita at the Cantina Fresca bar!

Top Tip

If you are onboard Wonder of the Seas for any length of time, make sure you pack “comfy clothes”. I certainly wouldn’t be able to resist the food offering or show any level of restraint but maybe that’s just my healthy appetite!
