Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises and Celebrity Cruises were big winners at this year’s World Cruise Awards, the sister event to the World Travel Awards.
NCL took the World’s Best Cruise Line top honour. Princess Cruises was named Best Cruise Line in Latin America. Royal Caribbean won for Best Suite for its Royal Suite. Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas was also named World’s Best New Cruise Ship.
Celebrity Cruises won big, also. Its Celebrity Edge ship was classed as best for technology, while its Celebrity Millennium vessel was named Best Midsize Cruise Ship and its Celebrity Apex ship was ranked best for romance.
In terms of destinations, Dubai was named World’s Best Cruise Destination, while Vietnam was named World’s Best River Cruise Destination. American Cruise Lines was awarded World’s Best River Cruise Line.
Cruise Planners was named World’s Best Cruise Travel Agency, while the Port of Falmouth, in Jamaica, was named World’s Best Cruise Terminal.
Viking Cruises’ Viking Egdir won the World’s Best River Cruise Ship award. Silver Origin was named the World’s Best Small Cruise Ship. Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 was named World’s Best Cruise Ship for Entertainment, Oceanwide Expeditions won for World’s Best Expedition Cruise Line and Lindblad Expeditions was awarded World’s Best Green Cruise Line.
