Portugal has been ranked as the best country in the world for remote work by travel metasearch site Momondo.
The country’s dedicated digital nomad visa, the high level of English among its population, its political stability, low violence, and great climate placed Portugal at the top of the list.
Just behind Portugal is Spain, followed by Romania, Mauritius and Japan, completing the top five best countries for digital nomads.
Momondo, part of Booking Holdings Inc, analysed 111 countries as part of this research, focusing on remote working conditions and opportunities for travel experiences.
The pandemic has encouraged a healthier work-life balance with people beginning to embrace the idea of working while discovering a new country.
