European Regional Airlines Meet in Dublin

The European Regional Airlines (ERA) held its 2012 General Assembly at the Convention Centre Dublin. ERA has 55 airline members operating to 426 European cities in 61 countries. This ERA meeting has become one of the ‘must attend’ events on the European aviation calendar. The opening keynote address, on ‘Investing in Our Future’, was given by Christoph Mueller, Chief Executive, Aer Lingus.

The second plenary session, devoted to the topic of ‘Future Fleet financing: Where does the money come from?’, was chaired by Christine Ourmieres, Chief Executive of CityJet.

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation was busy promoting its MRJ-90, which already has 170 advance orders and claims significantly lower fuel burn and CO2 emissions. The first flight is listed for next year.

The winner of the ERA Airport Achievement Award 2012/13 was London Southend Airport, which is now served by Aer Lingus Regional.
