At the recent Brand USA week in London, ITTN sat down with William Pate, CEO and President of Atlanta Convention & Visitors’ Bureau. We discussed the reopening of tourism in the United States and the specific offer of Atlanta as a destination unto itself but also as a gateway to Georgia and the Deep South.
The interview was recorded last week, just as the city’s baseball team, the Atlanta Braves, were getting ready to play in their first World Series since 1995. So William and I discussed the excitement surrounding the best-of-seven series and our hopes that they would win – which they did last night (3 November), defeating the Houston Astros 7-0 to record a 4-2 series win.
This exclusive interview with the tourism boss of one of the key gateway destinations in the US for Irish visitors is part of an extended series of interviews with US tourism bosses ahead of the November 8 reopening of US borders to international visitors.
