The renovations at Cork Airport are likely to be completed in time for its reopening later in November.
In the latest update, it has been confirmed the works will be completed in time for the planned reopening on November 22.
A flight check is scheduled for the week before the reopening.
Cork Airport closed its doors in mid-September to begin the project. The plans include a total reconstruction of the runway, along with the upgrading of the airport’s approach, airfield and ground lighting, runway edge, and centreline lighting.
Cork Airport is investing over €40 million between 2020-2022 to upgrade and enhance critical infrastructure.
New route to Manchester
The airport has also announced the launch of a new Ryanair route to Manchester. The service will begin operating two daily flights from on December 17 2021.
