Beverleigh, who works in Innstant Travel, has spent well over a decade promoting travel to the USA and is currently working with the committee to bring in new marketing opportunities and restructures within the organisation.

The other elected executive board members are Ciara Foley, owner of Platinum Travel, as Vice Chairperson; Treasurer Patricia Purdue from Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism; and Secretary Ciara Corcoran from Sunway Holidays. All of the team are well known to the Irish travel trade and bring a wealth of experience of the USA as a destination.

Visit USA has also welcomed a new Executive Director, Clodagh Oxley, who has spent the past four years at Delta Air Lines and who has a marketing and PR background.

Visit USA is looking forward to an active year and the Executive Committee are committed to bringing their strategy for 2012 to fruition. The next key event to take place is Pow Wow in Los Angeles this April, where they hope to increase their membership numbers and bring on more CVBs, hotels, and attractions in order to strengthen their value to the Irish market, committee members and consumers.

They will also have the opportunity to meet with Brand USA, which is a public private partnership with the mission of promoting increased international travel to the United States. They will be flying the Irish flag in an effort to secure funding for promotional efforts that the committee wish to accomplish this year and will highlight the fact that Ireland is ranked in the top 20 of international inbound tourism markets to the USA.

Almost 350,000 Irish visits were undertaken to the USA last year. The USA continues to provide value for money for the Irish visitor looking for either a city break or two-centre, fly-drive or adventure holidays.
