Conal Harvey, Vice-Chairman, and Tim Husbands, Chief Executive, celebrate as Titanic Belfast is named as Europe’s Leading Visitor Attraction at the World Travel Awards held in Sardinia, Italy.
For the top spot, Titanic Belfast beat off competition from the Eiffel Tower, France; the La Sagrada Familia, Spain; the Acropolis, Athens, Greece; Buckingham Palace, England; Ribeira do Porto, Portugal, the Roman Colosseum, Italy; and the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin, Ireland.
This is the first time an attraction in Northern Ireland has won the award at the ceremony, nicknamed the ‘Tourism Oscars’, in its 23-year history and the second year in a row that an attraction from Ireland has won the accolade.
