Harmony of the Seas: Countdown is On

With just over two weeks to go until the launch of Royal Caribbean International’s Harmony of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, the excitement is building across the country among the Irish travel trade.

Ireland’s leading cruise brand will host over 200 trade partners from the Republic and Northern Ireland on the pre-inaugural sailing from Southampton on Friday 20th May until Sunday 22nd May, making this one of the largest ever Irish trade events onboard a cruise ship.

Trade partners will certainly be ‘WOWED’ with the launch of Harmony of the Seas, an Oasis-class ship with the technological features of Royal Caribbean’s Quantum class. Complete with seven unique onboard neighbourhoods to explore; over 30 bars and restaurants; a live Broadway performance of Grease; VOOM – the fastest Internet you’ll find at sea; Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea featuring a breath-taking 10-storey drop, and Royal Suite Class, the newest luxury offering onboard. Always on the cutting edge of innovation, the jaw-dropping ship stands at over 200 feet wide and measures three times the length of the field of Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

There was a phenomenal response to Royal Caribbean’s Club Royal ‘Harmony Queue’ initiative with over 3,230 agents from Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK participating in total. Social media played a large part in the Harmony Queue initiative with #getmeonharmony featured in over 77,799 Facebook posts; 988,201 Twitter posts and a whopping 6,082,605 retweets. Royal Caribbean currently has 766 Club Royal members in Ireland – 399 in the South and 367 in the North.

Ben Bouldin, Royal Caribbean’s Director of Sales for UK & Ireland, said: “We are really looking forward to the pre-inaugural event on 20th May and to welcoming over 200 of our Irish and Northern Ireland trade partners onboard Harmony of the Seas. An adventure playground for all ages, we know she will blow them away!”

When Harmony of the Seas launches on 20th May, there will 25 spectacular ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet including the recently launched Ovation of the Seas, with over 250 fabulous destinations to explore.
