Come and join Sunway and WestJet on a magical fam trip to Newfoundland & Labrador … sure where else would you possibly see humpback whales and floating icebergs in June! Newfoundland & Labrador, that’s where.
To be part of this wonderful trip just answer the simple questions below and complete the entry form and you could be joining the four-day / three-night trip departing 2nd June from Dublin with WestJet.
Starting off in St John’s, one of the oldest cities in North America and capital city of Newfoundland & Labrador. With colourful pretty buildings dotted throughout and with festivals, arts, music and nightlife for everyone’s tastes, and a beacon for food lovers with delicacies from land and sea, you will love it. Another couple of quirky facts: ‘Twacking’ is what the locals commonly refer to as shopping and for any followers of the TV series ‘The Republic of Doyle’ well, that was all filmed in St John’s too!
Iceberg Alley is an area stretching from the coast of Labrador to the northeast coast of the island of Newfoundland. Something you won’t do every day is possibly see an iceberg. The best time to view icebergs is April to early June and hopefully you will see one in June.
The Titanic: We all know about the Titanic but did you know that Cape Race Lighthouse became a centre for reporting news around the world when it received the Titanic’s distress signal? You will visit the Titanic Story in St John’s at the GEO Centre and you will learn how this tragedy actually occurred. Also, Cape Spear Lighthouse is as far east as you can get on the continent of North America and the perfect location for whale watching in season (late spring throughout the summer is the best time) and if you look out straight across the Atlantic, the next stop is Co Clare, Ireland.
Ever tasted water, beer or vodka made from 10,000-year-old icebergs? Well, in Newfoundland & Labrador you can do just that. Quidi Vidi Brewing Company harvests icebergs and brews crisp, clean lager for your enjoyment. Hopefully you will enjoy sipping one of these in June!
With daily direct flights ex Dublin with WestJet from 2nd May to 24th October and only a 4hr 30min flight, it couldn’t be easier to get there, and with only a 2hr 30min time difference from Ireland GMT, not much jet lag to worry about either.
