The sun-soaked Balearic island of Menorca is now on the list of fantastic destinations from Cork Airport this summer. People looking to get away to the Mediterranean island can book their holiday through Lee Travel or Stein Travel.

There will be a weekly flight to Menorca from Cork Airport each Saturday throughout the 12 weeks of summer 2016, starting 25th June 2015. The flights will be operated by CityJet, who will use its RJ85 98-seater aircraft, which has a wider seat for greater comfort.

Declan O’Connell, Managing Director, Lee Travel said: “We are delighted to be able to exclusively offer Menorca to our Munster customers this summer. It is the second largest of the Balearic Islands and is considered a perfect destination for a family getaway as it is less of a party island compared with its neighbours. Menorca is the most tranquil of the islands and, thanks to its unspoilt beauty, it offers the chance to discover new charms and experiences.”

Stein Travel’s David Slattery added: “Menorca is a hugely popular destination for sun seekers so we are expecting a lot of interest in the new service. It is an island with an abundance of clean and quiet beaches and coastline, so finding your own piece of paradise to relax and unwind will not be difficult. There is also plenty to do for the more adventurous, including hiking, kayaking, sailing and biking.”

Menorca is a treat for foodies and the local wineries have recently earned a great reputation. The many waterparks, beaches, walking and cycling trails provide the perfect backdrop for wonderful family memories. The island is also home to some magnificent fortresses, castles and museums and the capital Mahon is situated on the second largest natural deep-water port in the world. It really is an island that has something for everyone to ensure a great summer break.
