Tourism Malaysia had a successful trade workshop and lunch in The Spencer Hotel in Dublin. The event was attended by H.E. Dato Syed Sultan Idris, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Ireland, together with Ishak Ismail, Senior Deputy Director-Aero Division- of Tourism Malaysia, and Junus Suhid, Director – UK and Ireland for Tourism Malaysia.
More than 12 people travelled to Dublin for the roadshow plus senior personnel from Tourism Malaysia. The event was organised by Isabel Oliveira, Marketing Manager for Tourism Malaysia in Dublin.
H.E. Dato Syed Sultan Ismail said that tourism is a vital component to the Malaysian economy and that Irish visitors are popular in his country. He pointed out that Malaysia is truly Asia: “Because of the diverse culture generated by the Malay, Chinese and Indian population, the nation has a melting pot for all of Asia.”
He added that the mega fam promotion organised by Tourism Malaysia had been a tremendous success with more 9,000 travel trade professionals participating since its inception. He concluded by pointing out that Malaysia is ‘must visit’ destination for Irish travellers.
