Orlando in Florida is now the USA’s most visited city with 62 million visitors last year, and a record 32 million bed nights sold. It has just made another record in hosting IPW-International Pow Wow-largest ever annual event in the Orange County Convention Centre. It saw 6,500 delegates from 74 countries do business that is estimated to be worth $5 billion to the US economy, as Michael Flood reports from Orlando.
There were the usual three evening events hosted by Disney, SeaWorld and Universal Studios, with Universal certainly taking the most accolades from the delegates. The Irish and UK delegates’ party was held at the stunning new Four Seasons Resort at Walt Disney World Resort, which is the largest Four Seasons in the world. Here luxury holiday homes are for sale in the grounds, starting price $3.5 million, and rumour has it that Oprah Winfrey has booked one of the largest houses here.
