Irish Ferries Remains Ireland’s Best Ferry Company

Thanks to the support of Irish travel agents and their staff, Irish Ferries has once again been voted Ireland’s Best Ferry Company 2014, beating off the challenge of all other rivals on Ireland/UK and Ireland/France routes.

At the recent 23rd Irish Travel Trade Awards, organised by Irish Travel Trade News magazine, Irish Ferries won the acclaimed award for the eighth year in succession and the 17th time overall.

Based entirely on the independent votes of travel trade professionals working in agencies across Ireland, north and south, the award is said to have reflected the travel industry’s response to the continuing investment being made by Irish Ferries.

In the past year, this has been seen particularly in the acquisition of the passenger and freight ferry vessel Epsilon, which was introduced to boost capacity on the Dublin/Holyhead route and to inaugurate a once-weekly return service on the new Dublin/Cherbourg route.

Acceptiing the award, Dermot Merrigan, Head of Passenger Sales, thanked travel agents for their support: “We are honoured by the fact that travel experts have once again chosen Irish Ferries as Ireland’s Best Ferry company. We

recognise the very valuable service that travel agents provide and the company looks forward to working even more closely with the trade in 2015.”
