Dublin Airport Welcomes 19 Extra Winter Routes

Dublin Airport will have 950,000 extra seats available across its route network this winter, a 10% increase in capacity compared to last year.Nineteen additional services will operate from Dublin Airport this winter, comprising nine new routes and 10 summer services that will operate this winter for the first time. New routes include Inverness, Cologne and Iasi in Romania, while recently launched services to destinations such as San Francisco, Toronto and Marrakech will operate for the first time this winter.

“This is likely to be Dublin Airport’s busiest winter season since 2008,” said Vincent Harrison, Managing Director. “Dublin Airport has a great selection of sun, ski and city break destinations for passengers this winter season.

“These new winter services, coupled with the additional frequency and capacity on many existing routes, significantly strengthens Dublin Airport’s route network, providing even more choice and flexibility for our customers.”

Passenger numbers at Dublin Airport have increased by 7% so far this year, with more than 16.6 million passengers using the airport during the nine months to the end of September.

Meanwhile, a number of new Dublin Airport routes have already been announced for 2015; Wow Air will fly three times weekly to Reykjavik from June, Ethiopian Airlines will fly to Los Angeles and Addis Ababa three times weekly from June, and Finnair will operate Dublin-Helsinki six times per week from March.
