Etihad Airways has increased its Abu Dhabi – Dublin service from 10 flights per week to double daily. The airline marked the occasion by hosting the trade to view its First and Business Class Lounge at Dublin Airport and to inspect the B777 in a three-class configuration.
Beatrice Cosgrove, Etihad Airways’ General Manager for Ireland, said: “Etihad Airways’ Dublin service goes from strength to strength and we are delighted to be operating double daily to Abu Dhabi with a multitude of connections onwards to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
“It’s great to celebrate this milestone by operating a three-cabin aircraft on the route and give our guests the chance to experience the world-class service and product from Dublin.
“Many of our guests connect on to Sydney and other cities in First Class and I am sure they will enjoy today’s chance to fly all the way from Dublin in First Class.”
The frequency boost of 40% now provides 8,988 seats each week between Dublin and the capital city of the UAE.
The schedule for the double daily flights will ensure connectivity both ways with 800 weekly connections to 45 Etihad Airways destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and India, including Bangkok, Beijing, Brisbane, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Melbourne, Perth, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
It also marks the commencement of Etihad Airways services to the Western Australian city of Perth. The airline will offer six weekly flights from Dublin to Perth with seamless connections at its Abu Dhabi hub.
Approximately 32% of all Irish visitors are choosing Perth as their gateway to Australia and these new flights will allow greater easy of access.
