One Stop Travel packs more in for Royal Caribbean International World Record bid

Lisa McNamara from One Stop Travel, Eyre Square in Galway is celebrating after representing Ireland in a recent Royal Caribbean International ‘pack off’.  The cruise company’s ‘Pack More in’ campaign had travel agents across Ireland and the UK competing against each other to pack a suitcase in the fastest time in a bid to beat the current Guinness World Record. Lisa recently joined 13 finalists on onboard Independence of the Seas in Southampton, England, to try to beat the world record and win a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2012.

Lisa made it to the contest’s final three with a time of 1minute 11seconds, but was then disqualified for packing items together and because tassels were hanging outside of her suitcase! Thomson travel agent Leanne Bell from Eastbourne, England, set a new Guinness World Record for packing a suitcase at the record speed of 1minute 6 seconds.

Lorraine Quinn, Head of Sales – Ireland, Royal Caribbean International, said: “As well as helping to bring a smile to faces with the suitcase packing record attempts, Royal Caribbean International’s ‘Pack More into your Holiday’ campaign has helped to attract both new-to-cruise customers and existing cruisers by overcoming some common misconceptions about cruise holidays – all in a fun, accessible and emotionally engaging way.”
