Travel Counsellors Ireland has seen double-digit growth in February bookings, Managing Director, Cathy Burke has revealed.
Speaking to RTÉ, Ms Burke said: “Sales were up 13% on the same 16 days last year…It’s not necessarily people saying, ‘get me out of here, I want to go next week’. Everybody’s just so miserable looking out the window, you can’t even go for a walk. All they want is sunshine and something to look forward to, so I do believe the weather’s having a big impact.”

Spain and the US are among the top summer destination sellers, but cruises are proving popular and new direct flights to the likes of Denmark and Sweden have boosted interest in Scandinavia.
