Wendy Wu Tours, JMG Travel, Killester Travel and Joe O’Reilly DMC have been confirmed as part of a beefed up tourism and travel exhibitor presence at this year’s Dublin 50-Plus Expo, at the RDS on March 12 and 13.
The 50 Plus Expo – run by Senior Times magazine – is Ireland’s only dedicated national consumer events for older people. Launched in 1999 to coincide with the International Year of Older Persons – the event is now run all over Ireland with over 20,000 people and 400 exhibitors attending all events – spanning Dublin, Cork, Galway, Sligo and Limerick – last year.
The Expos are designed to be informative, educational and upbeat events for the 1.2 million people over 50 in Ireland. They are ideal for people who are about to retire or already have and want to take up new hobbies or pastimes, want to learn about their rights and entitlements, using home technology, travel opportunities, the financial implications of retirement and most importantly, keeping themselves mentally and physically active in their later years.
Event manager Brian McCabe, said: “The show offers a great opportunity for Irish hotels to showcase their off-peak ‘Golden Years’ packages, as well as providing tour operators, tourist boards and carriers with a unique platform to promote products popular with seniors such as weekend breaks, Christmas markets, autumn/winter long stay packages, and long-haul destinations tailored to visiting children and grandchildren.”
