Hilton Hotel Group has announced the signing of Conrad Meia Praia Algarve, a new luxury beachfront resort showcasing Conrad Hotels & Resorts’ globally recognised design and experiential ethos in the Algarve when it opens in spring 2027.
The project will be developed by the joint-venture between PGIM’s real estate business, Sonae Sierra and Iberian Hospitality Solutions (IHSP) under a franchise agreement – marking its second collaboration with Hilton. The new resort will also include 21 Conrad branded residences.

Located above the idyllic Meia Praia beach, just a short drive from Lagos town, Conrad Meia Praia Algarve will feature 116 guest rooms and suites, all with sweeping sea views, including seven with private plunge pools.
The resort’s amenities include two distinctive restaurants, a contemporary beach club, a lobby and pool bar, indoor and outdoor pools, a Conrad spa, a modern fitness center, and a refined space for events. The resort will reflect Conrad’s approach to modern luxury: bold, contemporary design; intuitive service; and experiences that authentically connect guests to the Algarve.
Dan Wakeling, vice president, development, luxury & residential, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, said: “Conrad Meia Praia Algarve represents a key milestone in Hilton’s luxury growth strategy across Europe. This exceptional beachfront resort will add to our expanding range of Conrad properties across the region and offer guests a new way to experience a luxury stay in one of Portugal’s most popular destinations. We’re delighted to be working with the joint-venture between PGIM Real Estate, Sonae Sierra and Iberian Hospitality Solutions (IHSP) and their experienced development team to bring this vision to life.”
Conrad Meia Praia Algarve will join Hilton’s growing portfolio in Portugal, which currently includes 30 trading hotels and 16 in the pipeline. The new signing builds on the success of Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Lago and further strengthens the brand’s presence in the region. The property will join a number of upcoming Hilton luxury hotel openings across Europe, including Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch and Sandblu Santorini, LXR Hotels & Resorts.

Dino Michael, senior vice president and category head, Hilton Luxury Brands, said: “Conrad Meia Praia Algarve gives us an extraordinary canvas to express what modern luxury means today: a place where bold design, intuitive service and the natural beauty of the Algarve come together to create a stay that feels both grounded and transportive. As travellers seek deeper connection to the world around them, this resort will offer an experience shaped by culture, craft and a true sense of place.”
