Hyatt Regency to Open New 5-Star Hotel in Rome this Spring

Colosseum in Rome with morning sun, Italy, Europe.

Hyatt Regency has announced a new five-star property in the centre of Rome, opening this spring.

The hotel will have Rome’s largest rooftop at nearly 2,200 sqm with 360 city views and a 20 metre swimming pool.

Hotel Highlights:

  • The opening of Hyatt Regency Rome Central marks a new era for hospitality in the Italian capital. The first Hyatt Regency address in Italy, this property embodies an assertive phase of expansion. With a resolutely contemporary approach, it reinterprets Roman elegance through a bold, vibrant lens.
  • Located in central Esquiline, a historic district undergoing a vibrant renaissance, Hyatt Regency Rome Central is home to Rome’s largest rooftop at nearly 2,200 sqm with 360 wraparound city views.
  • The rooftop features a 20 metre swimming pool with cabanas and sun-loungers, three unique culinary outlets, and an expansive fitness and wellbeing area including a yoga terrace and outdoor hot tubs.
  • Designed by King Rosselli Architects in the early 2000s, the building reflects a modern Rome while echoing the curves of the nearby Anio Vetus aqueduct. Inside, Studio Moren and Studio Aelan have created bold, contemporary interiors where colour and material work together to form warm, inviting spaces. The result is a fresh take on Roman hospitality that balances architectural clarity with modern style.
  • Known as one of Rome’s legendary seven hills, Esquiline has long been a cultural and artistic crossroads. Today, it is reinventing itself through a dynamic creative scene, fueled by prestigious institutions and emerging talents, home to the new Accademia Costume & Moda, attracting a new generation of artists and visionaries.
  • Hyatt Regency Rome Central offers 238 rooms, including 20 suites, spread across six floors. Several rooms and suites feature private balconies, overlooking either the hotel’s courtyard or the Eternal City. The Regency Suites boast elegant terraces transformed into summer dining spaces, perfect for alfresco meals or simply unwinding while admiring the Roman skyline.
