The Italian Irish Chamber of Commerce CLG has announced a significant cultural and tourism promotion initiative dedicated to Pompeii and the Campania Region, taking place this Thursday, 12 February 2026, in conjunction with the official signing ceremony of a Twinning Pact between the cities of Dublin and Pompeii.

The Twinning Pact aims to foster long-term co-operation in the fields of culture, tourism, and economic development, while strengthening institutional dialogue and collaboration between Ireland and Italy.
Thanks to the collaboration and organisation led by Nicola Faganello, Ambassador of Italy to Ireland, and Michela Linda Magrì, Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin, together with the active involvement of the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Irish Chamber of Commerce (IICC), the initiative is expected to deliver strong cultural and institutional value.
Their contribution reflects a shared commitment to promoting bilateral relations and enhancing opportunities for co-operation between the two territories. In parallel with the signing ceremony, the proposed programme would include a short cultural talk focusing on the historical heritage and contemporary relevance of Pompeii and Dublin, followed by a panel with experts of Art and History from Italy and Ireland, and a concert by ”G. Martucci” Musical Conservatory of Salerno.
From the perspective of the Italian Irish Chamber of Commerce, the Twinning Pact represents not only a cultural initiative but also a strategic platform to encourage tourism flows, strengthen economic ties, and support sustainable development through cultural diplomacy.
The Chamber is proud to support an initiative that highlights the value of cooperation between historic cities as a driver for innovation, growth, and mutual understanding.
