Dublin Airport Formally Marks 86th Anniversary of First Flight

Dublin Airport – which has just seen its busiest year ever – has marked its 86^th year in operation this week.

At approximately 9am, on January 20, 1940 the first flight out of Dublin Airport – which was then known as Collinstown Airport – departed en route to Speke Airport in the UK, now Liverpool-John Lennon Airport.
