Visitor numbers to Ireland jumped 13%, year-on-year, to 460,300 in November, latest monthly inbound tourism figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show.
However, over the 11 months to the end of November, overseas visitor numbers were down – year-on-year – by 5% to just above 6.2 million people.
The latest available monthly data for 2025, however, hint at some level of recovery; or at least the potential for some.
Along with the rise in visitor numbers, the length of stay was up 12% on the same month a year earlier, and the overall tourist spend – at €347m (when travel fares are excluded) – jumped 10%.
UK visitors made up the bulk of those entering the country, with mainland Europe second and those from North America in third place.
