TUI Ramps Up Hotel Expansion in Asia; with More to Follow

TUI Group is continuing its strategic growth course and expanding its international hotel portfolio in Asia.

With the first Robinson club resort in China and the signing of another TUI Blue hotel, the TUI Group is strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic travel markets.

At the same time, TUI Hotels & Resorts is preparing for the debut of the TUI Blue brand in Japan and the TUI Suneo brand in Vietnam. TUI Hotels & Resorts already comprises 24 hotels in China and Southeast Asia. With the newly signed projects, a total of 29 additional hotels will be added in the coming years.

TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel, said: “TUI is expanding in Asia. With more than 450 hotels worldwide, TUI ranks among the leading international groups in the leisure hotel industry. Our Hotels & Resorts segment, featuring brands such as RIU, Robinson and TUI Blue, is highly international, fast‑growing and profitable. Through our hotel expansion in Asia, we are deliberately targeting new customer groups, welcoming additional guests and reinforcing our independence from the European home markets, where economic momentum and growth have recently slowed.

“The hotels in China and other Asian countries are designed to appeal to Asian, European and international guests alike. This approach ensures consistently high occupancy rates throughout the year and strengthens the profitability of TUI’s hotel business. China and other Asian countries are among the most important growth markets for the international hotel industry. With the construction of the first Robinson club resort and the expansion of our TUI Blue portfolio, as well as projects in Japan and Vietnam, we are sending a clear signal of our long‑term commitment to Asia.”

First Robinson Club resort to be developed at Meifan Sailing Port
The premium club brand Robinson will open its first resort in China in Meifan, in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta Green Demonstration Zone, a national project for sustainable development. The resort will be a new build covering an area of 160,000 m² and will be part of an integrated sports and leisure district offering sailing and water sports. The club will target both families and couples with a ‘For All’ concept. The opening is planned for January 2029.

“With the first Robinson in the Yangtze Delta, we are bringing our premium club concept to a region that stands for sustainable development and tourism. The demand for high-quality club holidays with a comprehensive range of sports is growing in China. The club will be geared towards an international audience,” said Bernd Mäser, Co-CEO TUI Hotels & Resorts.

The project in the Yangtze Delta integrates ESG principles, water technology and renewable energies. TUI is the only non-Chinese tourism company to be a member of the Yangtze River Delta Green Demonstration Zone Developers Alliance.

Further TUI hotels planned in China and Southeast Asia
At the same time, the lifestyle hotel brand TUI Blue is expanding its portfolio in China and Japan. TUI Blue Anji complements the existing offering in the People’s Republic, where the brand already has six hotels. The hotel on the south-east coast of China is aimed at guests who appreciate authentic experiences, local cuisine and contemporary design. “The demand for authentic hotel experiences in Asia is growing rapidly. With our first TUI Blue hotel in Japan, we are focusing on a current trend destination and a popular skiing region in the country. In Vietnam, we are creating an attractive offering for price-conscious international guests with the first TUI Suneo”, says Artur Gerber, Co-CEO TUI Hotels & Resorts. The openings of the three new hotels are already planned for the 2026 calendar year.
