Lufthansa Unveils Special Plane Livery for 100th Anniversary

German flag carrier Lufthansa has unveiled its commemorative plane livery due to adorn part of its fleet to mark its 100th anniversary in 2026.

The Boeing 787-9 with the special livery will be delivered to Lufthansa in December. The aircraft, which received its livery at Boeing in Charleston, South Carolina), was transferred to Everett (Washington) yesterday. The aircraft, named Berlin, is expected to arrive in Frankfurt shortly before Christmas.

The special livery with the registration D-ABPU, which was designed to mark Lufthansa’s 100th anniversary in 2026, combines tradition and the future in an iconic design, the airline said. The blue fuselage is adorned with a white crane whose wings merge into the wings, turning the aircraft into a flying ambassador for Lufthansa.

The D-ABPU is expected to enter scheduled service in January.
