ITTN’s Julia Labedz is taking part in Expedition Kissimmee, a global FAM trip hosted by Experience Kissimmee, alongside 12 other international media representatives. Among the participants and joining Julia directly are Jo White of Experience Kissimmee and Charlotte Flach of Selling Travel. The group is set to explore Kissimmee across a packed multi-day itinerary.
The international media representatives joining Julia are: Ikram Casas, Daniel Guerrero, Amanda Leonel, Martha Vargas, Ann Rupenstein, Nancy Benettonsampath, Jill Weinlein, Lisa Niver, Khursheed Dinshaw, Christophe Hardin, and Marcos Ferreira.
Julia is jetting off to Kissimmee with Aer Lingus, on the airline’s non-stop service connecting Ireland directly to Orlando International Airport (MCO). Departing from Dublin Airport, Aer Lingus provides one of the most convenient transatlantic links for Irish travellers heading to the heart of Central Florida. The carrier’s Airbus A330 ensures a smooth experience for all with a two-cabin configuration, in-flight entertainment, and of course – Irish hospitality at cruising altitude! And who doesn’t love a pack of Tayto’s up in the air?
Arrival into Orlando is set for the late evening, where Julia be staying at the Margaritaville Resort Orlando. Conveniently located just south of US Highway 192 in Kissimmee and a short drive from Walt Disney World, this huge resort is said to “transport guests into a vacation state of mind immediately upon arrival”. The tropical-themed property has a lagoon-style pool, soft white-sand beach area, full-service spa, fitness centre, and a range of on-site dining and entertainment options. Two styles of accommodations are available to visitors – the Margaritaville Hotel, which features upscale amenities and balconies in each of 186 guestrooms, or the Margaritaville Cottages, private residences that offer the comforts of home – both of which provide a premium experience and friendly, genuine, island-inspired service.
The resort is also home to the Sunset Walk, a shopping and dining district that enhances the guest experience with live music, eateries, and boutique outlets.
Throughout the week, the group will enjoy a series of standout experiences designed to showcase the best of Kissimmee. Highlights include an airboat ride through the headwaters of the Everglades, the opportunity to hand-feed giraffes at Wild Florida, and a special evening at EPCOT featuring dinner and an attraction experience. Wednesday will include a dedicated trade show event for industry networking, while Thursday finishes off with a tour of high-end vacation homes followed by a closing dinner.
ITTN extends sincere thanks to Experience Kissimmee for hosting this FAM, to all organising partners involved in delivering the itinerary, and to Aer Lingus for providing transatlantic flights from Dublin to Orlando and back!
