Management at London’s Heathrow Airport said the hub is fully ready for growth following another record month of on-time flight performance and passenger numbers.
A surge in UK traveller demand for cities such as Brussels, Lyon, Marseilles and Vienna drove Heathrow’s monthly passengers to a record 7.3 million in October.
During its busiest ever October, Heathrow also remained the most punctual hub airport in Europe.

Heathrow CEO Thomas Woldbye said: “The numbers speak for themselves – working with airlines, Heathrow is serving more passengers on time than any other European hub. We have the skills and knowledge to deliver a world-class airport today, and we are ready and waiting to use this to expand the UK’s gateway to growth.”
Heathrow has proposed a £33bn expansion and a separate £15m modernisation of the exiting facilities.
