Australia & New Zealand Travel Agents Familiarise Themselves with the Best of Ireland

Six travel agents from Australia and New Zealand have been visiting Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Emirates.

The aim of the visit was to familiarise the travel agents with our superb tourism offering – from our spectacular scenery and rich heritage to our warm hospitality – so that when they return home, they will be better informed and more enthusiastic than ever about Ireland, inspiring even more Australian and New Zealand holidaymakers to visit in 2026 and beyond.

The travel agents’ busy itinerary included Powerscourt Waterfall, Powerscourt Estate & Gardens, Powerscourt Distillery and Glendalough, as well as Newbridge Silverware, Kildangan Stud, a falconry session at Kilkea Castle, Cushendale Woollen Mills, Jerpoint Glass Studio, Kilkenny Castle and Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny.

The group also visited Birr Castle Demesne, enjoyed a cruise from Banagher with Silverline Cruisers and learned all about Ireland’s ancient boglands at Celtic Roots Studio. EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, The Little Museum of Dublin and a tour with The Perfect Pint Tour in Dublin also featured on their busy programme.

Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of Australian and New Zealand travel agents to visit Ireland, to experience first-hand some of our superb tourism offering. Seeing is believing – our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland.”
