ITTN’s Julia Labedz is setting off on a FAM trip to Kuşadası in Turkey, hosted by Sun Express and Sunway, in collaboration with the Turkish Tourist Board with a select group of Irish travel professionals. The trip is designed to showcase the resorts, hotels, and local experiences of the Kuşadası region!

The trip is split into two separate groups – Dublin & Cork. The Dublin group departs today, Thursday 16th October, and will travel on SunExpress flight XQ887 from Dublin to Izmir, marking the beginning of the FAM. The Cork group are already enjoying Kusadasi, having travelled on SunExpress flight XQ821 the day before.
Operating as a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, SunExpress offers a direct and efficient connection between Ireland and Turkey, ideal for both leisure and trade travellers. The airline is recognised for its reliable service, modern fleet, and strong network linking Irish passengers to leading Turkish destinations such as Kusadasi, Bodrum, and Antalya. This flight sets the tone for what promises to be a productive and fun FAM trip!
Upon arrival, the participants will transfer to the Richmond Ephesus Resort in Kuşadası, where they will be based for the duration of the trip. They will be joined by Jens Bachmann and James Harrison from Sun Express, as well as Andrea Holmes, Kellie Fitzsimons, and Catherine Cinnamond representing Sunway.
The group will be staying at the five-star, all-inclusive Richmond Ephesus Resort located along the Aegean coastline just outside the ancient city of Ephesus. The resort directly overlooks a sandy beach and provides a wide range of amenities including outdoor and indoor swimming pools, tennis courts, a wellness centre, and various dining options featuring both local and international cuisine.
With spacious rooms, family-friendly facilities, and proximity to historical sites such as Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary, the Richmond Ephesus Resort promises to be the perfect base for the FAM!
Overall, there is much to look forward to! The four-day itinerary includes hotel inspections, a boat trip (where a cheeky dip may be involved), and hosted dinners, offering agents a comprehensive overview of the Kuşadası area as a holiday destination, and giving them a chance to soak up some much needed sun.
