TUI Americas – the specialist in outbound tourism from Latin America for TUI Group – has presented the catalogue River Cruises 2026.
With 12 main itineraries on the Rhine, Moselle and Danube, operated on exclusively chartered ships, and more than 40 departures planned between May and October, the new schedule consolidates TUI Spain, Portugal & Americas as a benchmark in this segment of the European market.

As a novelty, the “Autumn Special” programmes on the Rhine and Danube are incorporated, which expand the possibilities of travel outside the high season and respond to the growing demand for experiences in less crowded months. In addition, the company has launched an advance sales campaign that offers a 10% discount on bookings made until March 1, 2026 and 7% until May 1, 2026.
“River cruises are one of the proposals with the greatest potential in the European market. With the 2026 catalogue we reinforce our differential proposal: exclusive boats for our customers, assistance in Spanish on all departures, unique cultural experiences and the incorporation of autumn itineraries that offer new opportunities to Latin American travellers,” said Germán Hijón, director of product and operations at TUI Spain, Portugal & Americas.
Sustained output growth
In recent years, river cruises have experienced sustained growth in Europe. In the case of TUI Spain, the product has maintained a steady increase in Spain, with an average of 15% per year in the last three years, a trend that also reflects the growing interest of other source markets, such as Latin America, for this type of travel.
Among the most outstanding trends, there is an increase in the demand for outings in autumn and a notable customer loyalty, many of whom repeat this experience in less than three years.
A differential experience adapted to the Latin American traveler
The TUI boats, in categories 4* Superior and 5*, offer a service adapted to the preferences of the Latin American traveller: 100% assistance in Spanish, themed gastronomy with local products, drinks included throughout the day, entertainment on board and exclusive excursions in destinations such as Vienna, Bratislava, Melk, Salzburg or illuminated night navigation in Budapest.
Upward trend in Europe
According to data from CLIA Europe, river tourism in Europe is growing at a rate of 6–7% per year, accounting for more than 80% of the world’s supply. In this context, Latin America and Spain are consolidating themselves as expanding source markets, with a customer profile that values the safety, language, comfort and exclusivity offered by this product.
