Green Fares are part of Lufthansa Group’s expanding portfolio of sustainable travel options. These fares combine two key elements of climate-conscious flying:
- Reduction of CO₂ emissions using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
- Offsetting of remaining emissions via high-quality climate protection projects
Depending on the route, the balance between SAF and offsetting varies:
- European & North African routes: 20% CO₂ reduction via SAF, 80% offset
- Intercontinental routes: 10% CO₂ reduction via SAF, 90% offset
