Wizz Air Agrees Strategic Distribution Partnership with Flight Content Aggregator Travelfusion

Wizz Air has announced a new strategic distribution partnership with Travelfusion, the world’s largest flight content aggregator – which is now live across all of the Hungarian low-cost airline’s markets.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in Wizz Air’s ongoing commitment to enhance accessibility, affordability, and connectivity for travellers travelling in Europe and beyond, the airline said.

Currently, a lot of European travel remains “unmanaged” by airlines, with 45% of travellers booking going through a retail channel such as online travel agencies (OTAs) and 72% of passengers globally preferred to book online.

This collaboration marks Wizz Air’s first strategic partnership with a content aggregator, and an important milestone in the airline’s revised commercial strategy to widen access to its fares and services through leading online travel agencies and booking platforms.

Through this partnership, Wizz Air will expand its fare and service availability to a broader range of customers, including major OTAs, travel management companies (TMCs), online booking tools (OBTs), and tour operators connected to Travelfusion’s global network. In return, Travelfusion gains access to one of the fastest-growing low-cost carriers in Europe, offering unbeatable fares, an expanding route network, and a rich portfolio of ancillary services.

We are proud to take this important step in making Wizz Air’s fares more visible and accessible to customers who book through third-party platforms. This agreement marks the beginning of a strategic work with online travel agencies and aggregators,” says Silvia Mosquera, Wizz Air’s Commercial Officer.

By collaborating with Travelfusion, we are taking a first step in widening access to Wizz Air’s affordable fares in line with the Price pillar of our Customer First Compass. Over last financial year we carried more than 68 million people through our extensive network of over 200 destinations, this year we aim for 75 million. We want to make travel even more accessible to ever more passengers and provide more transparency throughout their travel. Let’s WIZZ!”
