The Travel Industry Golf Society (TIGS) held its annual Summer Sizzler outing on Friday, 11 July at Newlands Golf Club in Dublin. Sponsored by the Spanish Tourist Board and the Region of Murcia, the event brought members of the travel industry together for a day of golf under exceptional summer conditions, with temperatures reaching 28 degrees.
The premier 18-hole golf course, adorned with stunning scenery, was in immaculate condition, presenting a delightful challenge for both low and high handicap players. The course’s variety and the strategic placement of mature trees made it a significant test, while still offering sufficient bailout areas for the higher handicaps.
Following the play, the group gathered in the clubhouse for a lovely dinner and prize-giving ceremony. The day was generously sponsored by the Spanish Tourist Board and Murcia, who provided some fantastic prizes. Here are the winners:
– Overall, Winner: Dave Smith with an impressive 41 points.
– Men’s 1st Prize: Keith Raymond with 38 points.
– Ladies’ 1st Prize: Carol Anne O’Neill with 30 points.
– Nearest the Pin: Joe Tully

Congratulations to all winners!
