Qantas & Air France-KLM Expand Partnership; Improving Europe-Australia Connectivity and Enhancing Loyalty Programmes

Air France-KLM and Qantas have expanded their existing partnership aimed at improving connectivity and enhancing the travel experience between Europe and Australia.

This strengthened co-operation between Air France, KLM and Qantas is set to deliver a multitude of benefits for travellers, with a focus on greater convenience and improved loyalty benefits.

European travellers are set to benefit significantly from this partnership expansion, with Air France adding its codes to Qantas’ non-stop service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Perth. The non-stop service this month marks one year of operations and is the first and only non-stop passenger service between Australia and France, cutting around three hours off the current fastest travel time between the two cities.

In addition, it will mean Air France is the only airline offering a code share proposition for customers on a direct Europe to Australia service.

Starting July 1, Air France will also establish Tokyo Haneda Airport as a new connection point for Air France and Qantas flights, complementing existing ones at Singapore Changi Airport and Hong Kong International Airport. Passengers transiting via these three connection points can transfer seamlessly to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Darwin and Perth onboard Qantas-operated flights.

Furthermore, both Air France and KLM will add their codes on Qantas’ flights between Singapore and Darwin.

Additionally, the extended partnership provides these passengers with more opportunities to earn and redeem Qantas Points when flying with Air France and KLM, with an enhanced loyalty co-operation coming soon.

For the first time, Air France-KLM Flying Blue members will have the opportunity to redeem their Miles for travel on Qantas First class. Flying Blue members with “Ultimate” status will be able to gain access to Qantas First class airport lounges. For Australian travellers, the partnership introduces greater connectivity to a wider range of destinations across France and beyond, leveraging the extensive domestic and European networks of both Air France and KLM.
