British Airways has reiterated its committment to becoming Net Zero by 2050.

One way that is happening is by investing in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). BA’s current SAF supply reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%-95% compared to traditional jet fuel, and it was the first airline to use SAF on a commercial scale after signing an agreement with Phillips 66.

IAG – which owns British Airways as well as Aer Lingus and Spanish carriers Iberia, Vueling and LEVEL – has invested over $2.3bn in SAF, and BA is on track to have 10% usage of sustainable aviation fuel by 2030.
