Leading self-drive inland water boating holiday company Le Boat is currently testing HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel at selected bases.
HVO is a renewable diesel alternative that can reduce carbon emissions by up to 90%.
Meanwhile, Le Boat still has a fully electric model of boat in the pipeline, but it will only be launched once waterway infrastructure across Europe and Canada is ready to support it.
