The Shannon Airport Group has selected Clare Crusaders Children’s Clinic and Little Blue Heroes as the two charities for which it will fundraise during 2025.
Clare Crusaders Children’s Clinic provides free therapy and specialist treatment to over 450 children with special needs in County Clare.
Little Blue Heroes supports families of children with serious illnesses in Ireland while empowering the lives of children through community engagement. The foundation works closely with An Garda Síochána to create special and lasting moments for these brave children and their families.

Vanessa McTigue, Chair of The Shannon Airport Group Charity Committee said: “We are thrilled to support Clare Crusaders and Little Blue Heroes. These organisations do incredible work in our community, and we are proud to stand beside them.”
This announcement comes following a successful 2024 fundraising year, where The Shannon Airport Group raised €100,000 for The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland and Milford Care Centre.
Each year, employees nominate and vote for charities to benefit from a 12-month fundraising campaign. Since its 10 years in existence, The Shannon Airport Group fundraising efforts have seen over €500,000 raised for deserving charities all over Ireland.
Charities to have benefited over the decade include: the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland; the Samaritans; Tipperary, Limerick & Clare for Cystic Fibrosis (TLC4CF); Milford Care Centre, Limerick; the Children’s Arthritis Network (ICAN); Ábalta Special School in Galway; Share a Dream Foundation; the Children’s Health Foundation; Sláinte an Chláir (Clare Cancer Support) and the Clare Crusaders.
During that time dedicated staff have organised fashion shows, bake sales, raffles, cycling challenges, pub quizzes, sponsored walks, GAA hurling events, and various local and business community events.

Expressing her admiration for the fundraising efforts of employees Mary Considine, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group said: “These partnerships highlight the Group’s commitment to supporting organisations that make a significant impact on communities, and I am so proud of all our employees who devote their time and energy to raise much needed funds for these deserving charities. I am looking forward to seeing what initiatives the team come up with this year.”
