Dublin Airport would see an 8% increase in emissions if its passenger cap increased to 36 million people per year.
That is according to an independent assessment, carried out on behalf of airport operator daa, ahead of this week’s rejection of the proposed passenger limit raise, by Fingal County Council.

The study covers the probable emissions increase next year if the cap is widened and takes into consideration airlines’ increased use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and the roll-out of more fuel-efficient plane fleets.
