Celene Duffy (Key Account Manager, APG Ireland) & the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority are hosting a fam trip of Irish travel trade and ITTN to the sandy shores of the Caribbean Island with Virgin Atlantic.
The Harbor Club St. Lucia
The all-new Harbor Club, Curio Collection by Hilton is located in the beautiful Rodney Bay, next to the island’s marina. There is a choice of 115 rooms, suites and one-bedroom suites including 8 with swim-up pools.
This has four outdoor pools and a stunning expansive pool deck overlooking the marina. There’s a swim-up bar as well as five world-class eateries.
Lunch was a sumptuous selection of dishes offered in their restaurants with local Caribbean flavours from “Julia’s”, international dishes from “14 Degrees North”, Sushi from “Market Street” and crafted cocktails all on an exclusive, elevated platform overlooking the pool, decking and marina.
This is a contemporary hotel with modern decor and an excellent location next to the island’s marina. The food is exceptiona, the service was superb and the expansive pool area is an ideal spot to soak up the St. Lucian sunshine. It is very popular for corporate events but has a strong leisure offering as well.
Royalton Saint Lucia
The group spent two nights in the Royalton Saint Lucia. This is an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort. Only minutes from Rodney Bay, this resort is near shopping, cuisine, and nightlife. Its all-inclusive offering features water sports, a tranquil spa, sparkling beaches and pools, kids clubs, and a variety of culinary options to suit every taste.
In numbers, this resort has 289 suites with 7 bars and 8 restaurants, pools, a splash park and playground as well as a spa for the adults. There are extensive sports and fitness facilities as well as kids and teens clubs.
The Royalton Saint Lucia also offers complimentary round-trip airport transfers.
Guests can enjoy daily entertainment and evening shows, watersports, a modern fitness centre with instructor-led classes and supervised, activity-rich kids clubs.
Our group was treated to a hosted dinner at the Royalton Saint Lucia on their Dorado Terrace. Guests, as part of the all-inclusive offering, have unlimited reservation-free dining, international and local drinks.
Gros Islet Street Party
Immersing ourselves in the local culture, we enjoyed the energy and excitement of a Gros Islet Street Party. Pumping music, balmy Caribbean sea air, fruity tropical cocktails, street food, market stalls with artisan crafts and local produce – this was a way to explore the locality and shop or party till the wee hours and is a common tourist ritual on a Friday evening.
