Royal Caribbean’s ‘Icon of the Seas’ Named Best Large Cruise Ship

Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas was named Best Large Cruise Ship at the fourth annual World Cruise Awards, in Madeira recently.

The sister awards to the larger World Travel Awards also announced Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas Best Cruise Ship for Activities.

Royal’s Symphony of the Seas won for Best Cruise ship for Entertainment.

The prestigious overall Best Cruise Line award went to Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). Silversea was deemed best cruise line for shore excursions. The Best Expedition Cruise Line award went to The Boat Company.

Evrima – part of the Ritz-Carlton group – took home the Best Small Cruise Line gong. Disney Cruise Line won two big awards – Best Mid-Size Cruise and Best Family Cruise.

Star Clipper was named Best Boutique Cruise line.
