Carol Anne O’Neill Opens Worldchoice Conference 2025

Carol Anne O’Neill, Commercial Manager – Worldchoice Ireland, opened the 2024 Worldchoice Conference held in the Fairways Hotel Dundalk.

“What we have learnt is that there are now no consistent sales peaks, booking patterns are constantly changing and this will continue to be the norm. 2024, yet again, tested our resilience with airline industrial action. And climate change is now becoming a prominent feature.”

“Well done to all those who were involved in proactively dealing with these disruptions. The travel industry continues to have its challenges but make no mistake, we will continue to overcome them. The power of consistency, you probably all ask yourself, why that came and how did you think this one up?”

The Power of Consistency

Born from the conversations with members on the road trip the length and breadth of the country with Carol Anne visiting the Worldchoice agencies across Ireland. One member, who knows who they are, spoke of consistency. This resonated with Carol Anne.

“The more I thought about it afterwards, I realised that it’s the key to the success of every single business. The word, Consistency by definition is the quality of always behaving or performing in a similar way or of always happening in a similar way. Consistency is one of the most powerful factors that contributes to success and growth in any business. Whether it’s consistency in customer service, marketing, branding sales or products, it is how your business is perceived.”

Why is it so Powerful?

“Why is it so powerful? Basically, consistency builds trust and loyalty with your customers, employees and your trade partners. The customers know that they can rely on you to deliver the same service anytime and they will come back and book with you again.”

“Your employees will trust a consistent leader and culture will make them feel safe, secure, valued and engaged in their roles. And your trade partners appreciate consistency because it makes working together predictable and stable.”

“Consistency strengthens your brand identity, consistent logos, marketing visuals and tone of voice can easily be recognisable to your customers across different touchpoints – your websiteand your social media.”

“Over time, this builds brand recognition which is a critical factor in attracting and retaining customers. Consistency improves efficiency – if processes, standards and workflow are consistent, you become more efficient, you waste less time and you also save money.”

“Consistency performance management of your teams is also key. It gives them clarity and clear goals for what they need to achieve.”

A Moment

Carol Anne paused for dear colleagues who are no longer with us and industry colleagues who are currently going through some very, very difficult times. Sometimes we have days and months that sail by and sometimes every minute feels like a monumental climb. Wishing strength, hope and good fortune to all who need it.

Embrace the Day

Carol Anne concluded: “Today is about learning. It’s about networking and it’s about having fun. It’s very easy and comfortable to spend the day in the company of your work colleagues or work friends and people you know, the learnings and opportunities lie in meeting the people, you don’t know.”
