ITTN Awards Sponsor: Hurtigruten Joins as Sponsor of Best Cruise Travel Agency Award

ITTN is delighted to welcome Hurtigruten as a new sponsor of the Best Cruise Travel Agency award at the 2024 ITTN Irish Travel Trade Awards.

Hurtigruten’s Head of Sales for EMEA, Carla Hines was excited to tell us: “Hurtigruten are delighted to be a sponsor of the 2024 ITTN Irish Travel Trade awards, an event that celebrates the outstanding achievements and dedication within the travel industry, an industry that brings joy, adventure, and unforgettable experiences to millions of travellers around the world and we’re honoured to play a part in recognising the individuals and teams who make it possible.”

About Hurtigruten
Hurtigruten have been the ‘spirit of Norway’ since 1893, caring for the country’s coast and inviting the world to travel their home as a local. On a voyage with Hurtigruten, you won’t just see the Norwegian coast; you’ll taste it too. As the crew sails its length, they pick from its pantry, sourcing the finest homegrown produce from the ports they visit. Hurtigruten are proud to support 50 local farms, bakeries, and producers from across Norway. In their onboard restaurants, enjoy the likes of melt-in- your-mouth cod from Vesterålen, award-winning cheeses from Lofoten, and quality craft beer from Bergen. As a result of its varied geography – from the deepest seas to the highest mountains – and climate, Norway is home to a diversity of wonderful wildlife, from cruising whales to diving seabirds. It’s all waiting to be discovered.

What’s New With Hurtigruten?
Hurtigruten is the only travel brand part of the new major initiative Made in Norway, a visionary project by the Norwegian government and spearheaded by Hurtigruten partner Innovation Norway. The initiative has been created to promote and celebrate the very best of Norwegian craftsmanship, authenticity, and sustainability on a global scale.

Launched August 21, 2024, in Oslo, Norway, Made in Norway is now official following its initial pilot phase. Hurtigruten is one of 22 Norwegian brands, which also includes two of the coastal cruise liner’s partners and suppliers, Aurora Spirits and Mack Brewery, both located in or near Tromsø, in Arctic Norway.

To be invited into the Made in Norway project, a company must adhere to a rigorous application process that includes stringent criteria focusing on product excellence and a clear commitment to sustainability, ensuring that only the highest standards of Norwegian quality are upheld under the new Made in Norway brand. The certification trademark is designed to increase the competitiveness of Norwegian products and solutions on the international market.

Thank you to Carla and the Hurtigruten team for joining us as a sponsor for the 2024 ITTN Awards! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone next week.
