Daa Unveils Planned New Look for Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1

Airport operator daa has confirmed that it has formally put the contract to overhaul and refurbish Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 out to tender.

It has also unveiled what the 52 year-old terminal will look like once the overhaul work has been completed.

Daa posted the news on X, over the weekend, saying: “Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport is getting ready for a new look. Our approved plans to add a new facade to the 52-year-old terminal recently went out to tender. Stay tuned for more details soon.”

The work will modernise the look of Terminal 1, but also hugely upgrade its energy efficiency and sustainable credentials. Terminal 1 has already been upgraded inside, so the new project will solely focus on the building’s exterior.

The work will boost the terminal’s energy rating from its current F status to one of B3. An insulated roof will massively reduce heat loss from the terminal.
