Fiji has launched a new series of experiences for visitors covering this year and next as it expands on its growing reputation as an adventure holiday hot spot destination.
Tourism Fiji is diversifying the holiday offering of the country – which spans 333 islands – from just iconic beaches to include off-road experiences and water adventuring and trekking through its jungles and mountains.
Earlier this year, Fiji was recognised as Oceania’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination at the World Travel Awards, cementing its position as a must-visit destination for adventurers from around the globe.
“Fiji’s breath-taking landscape, combined with its warm community spirit, make the destination an idyllic playground for travellers seeking unforgettable adventure experiences,” said Jane West, Regional Director UK & Europe, Tourism Fiji. “With our new offerings for 2024 and beyond, we’re excited to showcase Fiji’s stunning natural beauty, rich culture, and sustainable tourism initiatives to the world”.

Sustainability at the heart of adventure tourism
Regenerative tourism is central to Fiji’s adventure experiences, ensuring visitors don’t just leave the environment as they found it – they help restore it. Many of Fiji’s adventure experiences are closely tied to conservation initiatives, including coral reef restoration projects, tree-planting schemes, and eco-friendly practices promoted through local workshops. Adventure seekers can participate in meaningful eco-tours, such as:
- Naidiri Village Biodiversity Park where visitors can contribute to coral restoration projects and village tours led by the local youth to support and empower their livelihoods.
- Mangrove Jacks Kayaks Guided Tours in Savusavu, where guided kayak tours support Fiji’s pristine mangrove ecosystems.
- The Duavata Collective is a group of like-minded tour operators who believe that tourism should enhance culture, heritage, and the environment and include leading hiking operator Talanoa Treks, which explores through the central heart of Viti Levu with its latest 3-day hike, Highland Escape
