Birmingham Airport, in the UK, has reopened and flight services are returning to normal after it had been temporarily closed and evacuated yesterday – with all flights suspended – because of a security incident involving a suspicious vehicle.
The vehicle was eventually cleared as not being suspicious and services began returning to normal yesterday evening.
Passengers are still, however, being advised to check with their airlines over possible delays.
Birmingham is the 7th largest airport in the UK and serves nearly 12 million passengers per year. Both Ryanair and Aer Lingus Regional serve the airport on various routes.
