Irish payments company Prommt has announced its first-ever hospitality industry-focused conference, to be held at Dublin’s InterContinental Hotel on October 3.
The event – in partnership with HRS Hospitality & Retail Systems and Elavon Europe – will feature insights and discussion on some of the most topical issues within the hospitality sector.
From supply chain attacks to AI-based spear phishing, the threat of a cyber-attack is ever present as cybercriminals continue to evolve. Topics such as Addressing the Increasing Risk of a Cyber Attack, aim to shed light on current threats and provide a roadmap to tackling them.
Paul Delahunty, Chief Information Officer at Stryve, will discuss the key lessons and recommendations that hotel management needs to know to help mitigate risk in the event of a breach. He is joined by cybersecurity experts from Prommt and Byrne Wallace LLP to offer a comprehensive look at the current landscape.
Other discussions include Ensuring the Optimum Guest Payment Experience and Payments as a Driver for Efficiency. With payments as a key touch point in the overall guest experience, it is essential to deliver a secure and frictionless solution.
From the point of booking, check-in, settling outstanding balances, and check-out, hotels can adopt powerful platforms to ensure transactions are convenient, effortless, and require minimal time and attention.
Furthermore, payment technology can help the hospitality industry reduce the significant burden of chargebacks and increase payment operational efficiencies, minimising risk and costs.
Recent research found that one-third of hotels reported a data breach in 2023, of which 89% experienced multiple breaches within the year. Another study found that 50% of guests prefer contactless payments and over half seek a fully contactless check-in and check-out experience. The event will address these themes to help empower hotels to deliver meaningful experiences to guests.
Donal McGuinness, CEO of Prommt said: “Our goal with this event is to foster an open dialogue about the payment challenges hotels face today and outline the potential solutions available that address their unique needs around payments and personal data. We are delighted to host this conference along with HRS Hospitality and Retail Systems and Elavon, and bring together senior hospitality professionals and industry experts to network and exchange ideas.”
