ITTN’s Julia Labedz Reports from the Denver Fam for Consumer and Media, Hosted by Aer Lingus

ITTN’s Julia Labedz joined a crew of media representatives on the inaugural Aer Lingus A330 flight from Dublin to Denver last Friday afternoon, celebrating the new direct route.

The Broadmoor Hotel

The Broadmoor and its Wilderness Experience properties encompass a total of 5,000 acres within the breathtaking Pikes Peak region. The main resort has 784 guest rooms and suites, championship golf courses, an award-winning spa, unique retail, and 20 diverse restaurants, cafes and lounges. The Broadmoor’s unparalleled combination of an illustrious history of innovation and distinctive culture of service has made it one of the country’s premier event destinations for over 100 years.

The Broadmoor is the world’s longest-running Forbes 5-Star and AAA Five-Diamond Resort, a distinction evident upon arrival. Originally a dairy farm turned casino and then resort, The Broadmoor exudes an elevated western ambience, with chandeliers, rich red rugs, and western art enhancing the beauty of Colorado and the American West.

In the spring of 2020 the 125,000+ square feet Exhibit Hall will make its debut. Explicitly intended to accommodate trade shows and exhibits, the interior of the space will be less formal and very versatile. Additionally, 32 breakout rooms surround the exhibit space with direct interior connectivity to the adjoining Broadmoor Hall. Together with the Exhibit Hall, Broadmoor Hall, International Center, and Colorado Hall will comprise “The Broadmoor Event Center,” add in the main campus meetings space and the total square footage of meeting space tops 315,000.

Rates in peak season start from €650++ and off season rates start from €199++

Julia stayed in the South Tower, with views of the mountains and another area of the resort, which houses the Ristorante Del Lago, one of the Broadmoor’s 20 restaurants.

A short yet pleasant walk from the main lobby to the South Tower, is lined with numerous boutique. The resort offers a wide variety of items, from artisan chocolates to luxury jewellery. Particularly notable is Yarid’s Boutique, with its unique selection of accessories, shoes, bags, and clothing. The shop assistants were exceptionally helpful, and the overall service at the hotel is impeccable.

Downtown Colorado

The first rays of the rising sun in Colorado Springs illuminate Pikes Peak, its snow-capped summit visible from Julia’s room. Her early start for a day of activities in Colorado Springs was accompanied by a warm, orange glow enveloping The Broadmoor.

Julia and the group began their day with breakfast at Urban Egg in Downtown Colorado Springs. The bustling eatery offered hearty, flavourful meals, and she enjoyed avocado on toast with refreshing Honeydew juice, a mix of honey, cucumber, and lime.

Seven Falls

Next, they headed to Seven Falls in South Cheyenne Canyon, known as “The Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado.” Established in 1883 and now owned by The Broadmoor, Seven Falls is a historic and captivating natural wonder.

The paved road to the falls blends seamlessly with the landscape, featuring benches, manicured lawns, and planted flowers. The area is clean and accessible, with ample restrooms and snack spots enhancing the experience.

Seven Falls offers two main viewpoints: the ‘Eagle’s Nest’ lookout, accessible by stairs or a mountain elevator, and a higher viewpoint reached via 224 steps. Both offer stunning views, with the upper trail extending into the forest for continued hiking.

Stay tuned for more highlights from Julia throughout her trip- including the U.S Olympic and Paralympic museum, and the towering fourteener west of Colorado Springs: Pikes Peak
