International travel trade event Global Travel Marketplace has unveiled plans to expand its portfolio outside of the UK as it marks a pivotal point in its evolution under the new brand Connecting Travel Marketplace.
The new-look Connecting Travel Marketplace will continue the successful format established by Global Travel Marketplace with a third UK edition from 15-18 September, before an inaugural European edition is hosted in Lake Como, Italy from 17-20 November. Each show is expected to welcome and connect more than 200 delegates.
Designed specifically for high-spend, mid-market frontline travel sellers and independent travel agents, Connecting Travel Marketplace’s estimated combined buyer power is expected to be £77.2m, up from £51.4m last year.
Invitations are being extended to leisure buyers from specific target markets, offering the chance to meet with hotels, boutique properties, destinations, experience providers and destination management companies from around the world.
Greg Reeves, managing director, international at GMT/CMT owner Jacobs Media, said: “The relaunch of Connecting Travel Marketplace is testament to the resounding demand for a premier international trade event tailored to decision-makers of high-spending, mid-market travel agencies, as well as reputable, independent consultants.
“The enthusiastic response from our industry network reaffirms this need, and we are thrilled to expand our show’s reach to various regions worldwide, beginning with the UK and Europe in 2024.”
