Communicating and Collaborating at The Irish Travel Trade Show in Dublin

The Irish Travel Trade Show took place in the Intercontinental Hotel, Dublin last night for the second leg of the show. The new venue for this year saw over 100 travel suppliers gather for an evening of networking with agents.

During the trade show part of the evening, I had the opportunity to catch up with some suppliers about 2024 plans and they had some great messages for the trade.

Newly re-elected President of the ITAA Angela Walsh spoke about the evening being an opportunity to collaborate, communicate and do business face to face. Angela Walsh thanked all of the international and local exhibitors as well as the amazing turnout from the travel agents. She also thanked the Intercontinental Hotel, Jean Maxwell and Lorraine Dunne, Maria Hourian and Bizex and Clare Dunne, CEO of ITAA, for all the organisation and for ‘providing the industry with valued opportunities to meet both our Irish and international colleagues’.

The buffet dinner was sponsored by AirFrance, KLM & Delta and the Great Lakes as Delta launch their new route to Minneapolis starting on 10 May 2024. Delta has operated out of Ireland for 36 years and Nadia Clinton, Regional Sales Manager UK and Ireland at Delta Air Lines, spoke about their commitment to the market and investment in the airlines’ customer service. This includes the new premium economy service which provides a separate cabin with more comfort recline. Lynsey Lamont from Cellet Marketing & PR, who represents the Great Lakes of America thanked the trade for their ongoing support and played a short video showcasing the stunning region.

Of course, no Irish Travel Trade Show would be complete without some amazing prizes which included a Dublin Airport Loop Hamper, return flights to Minneapolis and accommodation with Delta Airlines and Great Lakes, return flights with Aerlingus, business class flights with EgyptAir, 2 places onboard Utopia of the Seas from Royal Caribbean and stays in stunning accommodations from Secrets & Dreams to Viks and THB hotels. Congratulations to all the winners.

I have worked in the travel industry for seven years, from working in American Holidays and The Travel Corporation I have a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of travel. Before joining ITTN I worked for Facebook which gave me the inside knowledge of the wonderful world of social media. I have a BSc in Event Management and am also a qualified beauty therapist (which definitely comes in handy in this business). Recently I joined the AWTE Ireland committee and I am enjoying working with and connecting with the network of women in travel.
